There are a record-breaking number of people in emergency accommodation in the greater Dublin area.

Latest figures record more than 9,700 people - over 3,000 of whom are children and more than 4,200 of whom are single adults.

In Dublin alone, 44% of those in emergency accommodation - 4,228 people - are aged 24 or under - nationally this percentage is 42%.
